I am very excited about getting to know you and your student this year! I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher! I have been looking forward to meeting you all summer and I can’t wait to get to know you better. We are going to have a wonderful year together.
First, let me take a moment to introduce myself to you. My name is Mrs. Sarah Wilson and this is my eleventh year teaching First Grade- and I love it more every year! I was born and raised right here in Utah. My husband and I are “puppy parents” to two adorable two-year old puppies named Calvin and Hobbes. I love spending time with my family whenever I can. I have 4 brothers and 4 sisters, as well as 6 nieces and 7 nephews, which always makes getting together an adventure. We enjoy doing many things as a family; some of our favorite activities are playing card games, watching movies, swimming, and cooking.
Music is very important to me and I use it in the classroom as much as possible. I am fluent in sign language, so you may notice that I often incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) into the classroom, particularly during calendar math. Some of my other interests include, traveling, movies, shopping, reading and baking.
I graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I have a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. I was selected as the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year for Granite School District. My whole life, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I am very excited to start this journey with you!
